Say Positive Affirmations

The Morning Call (Allentown, PA), July 1, 2008

“I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.”
~ Stuart Smalley (“Saturday Night Live”)
Words are powerful, and with repetition, they can be internalized. You will start to believe the things you think and say about yourself. Positive affirmations can enhance your self-esteem and relieve stress.
Focusing on your strengths and believing in yourself will allow you to better handle stressful situations. “I can do it” is more empowering than “It’s not possible”.
Create a list of affirmations you wish to live by. For help, do a Google search of “positive affirmations”.
Say your positive affirmations out loud, often, and with conviction. Listen to your words and feel their impact. With practice you should experience a deepening of these beliefs.
